Methodology: From three markets Ouagadougou city, fresh samples fruits the two plants have been purchased. After month drying laboratory at 25°C, dried were used determine Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Potassium (K) , Sodium (Na), Phosphor (P), Iron (Fe) Zinc (Zn) using flam photometer atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
 Results: results showed high K, Mg Ca fruits. Na, P also satisfying. Fe Zn known as trace elements are well represented values 3582, 187, 126, 87, 29, 21 2 mg/100 g for Mg, Ca, P, Zn, respectively S. aethiopicum. had 2991, 317, 207, 135, 30, 6 4 respectively.

Comparison of polyphenol oxidase in fruits of Solanum melongena L. (purple) and Solanum melongena L. (green)

A comparative study of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) from two varieties of brinjal (local long green-bili badnea and purple-gundu badne) was conducted to determine differences and similarities of some of the characteristics of the PPO enzymes in terms of temperature and pH optima, substrate specificity, thermal inactivation and potency of some PPO inhibitors. PPO was partially purified by ammonium s...

Sesquiterpenoids in root exudates of Solanum aethiopicum.

Five known sesquiterpenoids, solavetivone, lubimin, lubiminoic acid, aethione and lubiminol were isolated from the root exudates recovered from Solanum aethiopicum by a newly proposed method using charcoal. Quantitative analysis of the sesquiterpenoids in the root exudates of S. aethiopicum and S. melongena suggested that relatively large amounts of the sesquiterpenoids were exuded from the roo...

The WRKY Transcription Factor Genes in Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) and Turkey Berry (Solanum torvum Sw.)

WRKY transcription factors, which play critical roles in stress responses, have not been characterized in eggplant or its wild relative, turkey berry. The recent availability of RNA-sequencing data provides the opportunity to examine WRKY genes from a global perspective. We identified 50 and 62 WRKY genes in eggplant (SmelWRKYs) and turkey berry (StorWRKYs), respectively, all of which could be ...
